Construction is underway on Northpoint on Jarvis Creek. It is a workforce housing development on Hilton Head Island. The plan calls for 157 apartments and townhomes. They come in one, two and three-bedroom layouts. Rents start at $1,500 a month. The project is a public-private partnership. The Town of Hilton Head Island is working with OneStreet Residential. Housing costs shape who can afford to live here. They shape who staffs the kitchens, the hotels and the classrooms. One project will not settle that question alone.
